DOTA 2 · Lineups & drafts
Compare the next move, not just a ranking
Explore Captains Mode with the Bladeform Dota 2 draft simulator. Compare candidates against current picks and bans, using roles, lanes and player hero pools, and undo choices.
Start from the current draft
Open Draft simulator and enter the picks and bans already made in Captains Mode. Check sides, pick order and the current step. Radiant and Dire labels alone do not indicate who picks first.
What goes into candidate comparisons?
The tool compares candidates using available role, lane, hero-relationship and player-pool information. Picked or banned heroes are excluded from available candidates. Read the notes when data is limited.
How should you use team hero pools?
Load the target team and check its ID, recent roster and roles. Hero-pool records describe historical usage; they neither establish current player form nor replace confirmation of the match roster.
Worked comparison: two candidate heroes
Review the component evidence for two candidates in the same draft state. Try one hero, undo, then choose the other and compare how the resulting lineup changes. Keep other conditions fixed to understand the source of the difference.
Picking and banning ask different questions
For a pick, consider how a hero helps your lineup. For a ban, also consider the potential benefit to the opponent and the cost of giving up that hero yourself. Do not treat pick rankings as ban rankings.
How do you review a completed draft?
Once both lineups are complete, open Lineup overview and check roles, all three lanes and sample evidence. Simulation explores choices; final lineup scores and probability estimates still need to be read separately.
